Edward Ruscha: Editions 1959-1999

The USF CAM is one of three museums in the United States to host the exhibition of Ed Ruscha's entire graphics production (over 200 works), organized by the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. Since the sixties he has created prints, paintings and films in a variety of styles including figuration, abstraction, realism, surrealism, minimalism, pop and conceptual art. Throughout his career he has produced prints and artist's books that embrace the vernacular of America's landscape, its cities and its popular culture. He captures the essence of Los Angeles by embracing its popular culture with wit and cunning. This exhibition will have particular resonance for the Tampa Bay community, as Ruscha was a featured guest artist with USF's fine art atelier, Graphicstudio in 1970.
