USF Contemporary Art Museum
The USF Contemporary Art Museum houses, develops, maintains and exhibits the University of South Florida's Art Collection of over 4000 objects. The Collection, which originated with the acquisition of one painting in 1959, currently includes exceptional holdings in contemporary graphics and sculpture multiples by more than 500 artists.
Approximately 700 works in the collection were published on campus at the acclaimed print atelier, Graphicstudio. Teaching collections of African and Pre-Colombian artifacts as well as a significant number of contemporary photographs add diversity to the collection. Site specific sculptures commissioned as part of the Public Art Program also enliven the University's campuses.
A number of internationally renowned artists are represented in the collection including: Arakawa, Alice Aycock, Leslie Dill, Georg Baselitz, Alexander Calder, Sandro Chia, John Chamberlain, Larry Clark, Jim Dine, Nancy Graves, Jasper Johns, Donald Judd, Nancy Holt, Doug Hollis, Roy Lichtenstein, Barnett Newman, Claes Oldenburg, Dennis Oppenheim, Robert Stackhouse, Mark Stock, Robert Rauschenberg, Larry Rivers, James Rosenquist, Richard Serra, Keith Sonnier, Richard Tuttle, and Andy Warhol.
Artworks from the collection have been exhibited broadly and are regularly made available to cultural institutions in Florida and beyond. Numerous corporations in the Tampa Bay area participate in the innovative USF CAM Corporate Partners Program with exhibitions designed by CAM staff installed in their public spaces.
