INSIDE ART - X Factor: Danielle De Jesus + Lucia Hierro
The Spring 2025 edition of InsideART highlights the work of Danielle De Jesus and Lucia Hierro, two of the artists featured in the USFCAM exhibition X Factor: Latinx Artists and the Reconquest of the Everyday. X Factor looks to ground a series of redefinitions of "Latinity" in the work of fifteen leading American artists—especially where their artworks and creative processes wrest novel meanings from hackneyed, conventional ideas of politics, class, race, history, representation, and everyday life. The lesson and instructional materials are aligned with curricular standards of state and national learned bodies in social studies and art education, introducing students to these artists' work and engaging them in critical analysis and reflection on humans’ interaction with their environment.
This edition of InsideART was written by USF College of Education faculty Dr. Bárbara C. Cruz and Dr. Clarence V. Walker, both professors in Social Science Education with support from Amy Allison, USFCAM.
