Sandro Chia
Sandro Chia (b. 1946), one of the most renowned of living Italian artists, typically looks to his country's rich artistic heritage for his imagery and themes, which he reinterprets for our time. A native of Florence, he was a key member of the Italian Transavanguardia movement which during its peak in the 1980’s was a part of a wider movement of Neo-Expressionist painters around the world.
While Chia is principally a painter, he is also an accomplished printmaker and sculptor. At Graphicstudio Chia produced colorful and distinctive works in a variety of media, including intaglio, lithography, heliorelief photographic woodblock, and bronze sculpture.
