Never Never Land
September 1 – October 8, 2001
USF Contemporary Art Museum
Curated by Omar Lopez-Chahoud, New York-based Curator, this exhibition features the work of 25 artists from diverse cultural backgrounds that reflect the Disney Phenomenon and other commercialized fantasy. The exhibition presents a cross section of artists and ideas that celebrate, subvert, and slyly criticize all aspects of Disney, from cartoon imagery to utopian notions of architecture and film. Never Never Land features works in media ranging from narrative videotapes to large-scale sculpture.
Never Never Land is organized and traveled by University Galleries at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton. The exhibition was made possible in part by the Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs, Florida Arts Council.
